Three things to note.
A quick morning update. Today is a day marking several large changes in the world. It is worth to note that life and politics - two inseperable entities - never stand still, that things always go on and change. There are a few pivotal changes that this day marks that are worthy of being taken into consideration.
First of all is, of course, the 89:th anniversary of the the October Revolution. It was one of the first massive uprisings, following on the revolution of 1905. It is only during a large crisis that I truly believe that a revolutionary movement has a chance to change something. Unfortunately, the people lost it's power to a bureaucratic structure that would form a bloodthirsty government. It is one of the great tragedies of our time that what was a great experimentation by the most retarded nation in Europe would lead to something as terrible as that when the people finally struggled to leap forward. Still, for all it's flaws and all the bad things that it became we have to remember that people still do fight and struggle, they try to take power over their own lives away from the few capitalists who control them. The millions who lived and died for the revolution shouldn't be forgotten.
Also, on this day we find that the Sandinistas have taken power in Nicaragua again and are going to join the Bolivarian revolution. Only time will tell with Latin America, but we can only hope that Venezuela will lead us into a new kind of socialism in the 21st century. That what began 89 years ago will be finished, perhaps, in latin america that has also bled and suffered so much.
Finally, the US goes to elections. The Democrats will hopefully sweep house. Though they've always been a terrible party, they are at least a little better than their adversaries. Let us hope that this serves to do some good, or at least lessen the blow to the many peoples who are suffering from the bombs, torture and persecution from the US government.
Hasta la victoria seimpre! Never forget!
