First of May: a conclusion.

So it seems as if we have a succesful first of may, the international day of labour, behind us in Sweden. It appears that the small success we had in Lund with growing demonstrations instead of falling was superceded in victory for the huge success for much of the Left elsewhere, particularly in the large cities such as Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm.

I do, however, have some more reports from around the world. See here, here and here. If you have any others, please, put them in the comments field. Last, but not least, our northernmost comrades have something to teach us in the south.

First of may, since it is our day, opens our perspectives, straightens our backs and allows us - for a moment - to glimpse a world where we do not just have bread, but roses, too. To follow up my interest in the US and Iraqi Communist Parties/Labour movement, see this and this.

Thanks for the links, Susan. I read PWW and check out the CPUSA site sometime every week or so. Were you a part of the marches? Nevertheless, welcome to the blog.
